Development and Assessment
The hope of West End LTC is that all members will continuously improve their game, and that Midweek/ Intermediate members will be able to progress to become Full members, should they so wish, enabling them to have greater opportunities to play, both competitively and socially.
In order to become Full members, players must be assessed (usually by committee, or ex-committee, members, and not by a coach), and be able to:
- Maintain a rally with other Full members.
- Serve effectively and consistently.
- Play appropriately in a doubles game (ie, know where to stand, how to respond to their partners/opponents strokes, etc).
- Demonstrate good court etiquette.
- Show that they would not be the weakest member in the Club.
The Club can offer coaching opportunities to help members achieve this standard, and, obviously, to improve upon it.
